Other Info: Long Branch State Park is an ideal
recreation destination for water enthusiasts as well as nature lovers.
Visitors can take advantage of all the recreation options the lake has to
offer, or hike through a restored prairie.
Access to Long Branch Lake is provided via three boat ramps,
catering to visitors wanting to boat, water ski or find a quiet cove for
fishing. The lake has an excellent reputation for bass fishing, but anglers
can also cast their lines for catfish and crappie. An accessible fishing
dock is available. A sand swimming beach provides a terrific place for fun
and sun.
Eighty two campsites, ranging from basic to electric, are
located in a wooded area bordering the native prairie and near the lake.
Nine secluded walk-in campsites are nestled near the lake's shore.
Campground facilities include modern restrooms with hot showers.
Picnic sites, scattered under trees and along the lake,
offer a quiet site for lunch and a scenic view. Two group shelters can be
reserved by contacting the park office. Near one of the shelters is a
one-mile trail that leads to the lake where benches await, providing a great
spot to sit and watch the day go by.
